“Braille signage” refers to tactile ADA signs that can be read by the blind and visually impaired. The ADA requires you have appropriate signage for all permanent locations in your facility. Tactile ADA braille signs are legally required to mark all permanent building rooms or spaces in U.S. public and commercial buildings and use braille per ADA sign requirements. 

The principle utilized in the Braille is that using engraving machine to drill a series of holes in the substrate delineating the location of the Braille dots. Then you insert spheres into the holes which provide a tactile raised Braille message. The raised pattern of dots represent different characters and can be read with the eyes, as well.

These braille signs are mainly used for wayfinding and identification purposes.
